Visual memories of muted and minimal landscapes are what shape my photography today.

Deep in the middle of the humid and lush landscape and in the shadow of an active volcano sits Hacienda de San Antonio in Colima, Mexico. Shrouded in thick vegetation, coffee fields and hazy light, this 19th century villa is one of the most beautiful properties that I have had the pleasure to photograph a wedding at. Every corner is uniquely amazing and you quickly find as a photographer that your main challenge will be begging for more time for portraits. Natalie brought her artistic talents to the day when it came to the design of the welcome dinner and reception.

The ceremony was held in the small chapel on the property. It’s traditional and ornate decorative nature made for a nice break in the photos. Here we took advantage of the light streaming into the large decorative windows on the winding staircase.
The reception was held in the open air courtyard. The evening brought cool air as a refresher from the hot tropical feel of the day. Natalie chose to light the dinner by candlelight. Above is one of my favorites from the day. I caught Natalie as she looked back before entering a cottage to bustle her dress for the afterparty.
The after party was filled with crazy light, lots of energy and of course an open bar. The night ended with a surprise firework show for the guests.
